Emmerdale viewers believe they've figured out a secret that Suzy Merton was keeping from her girlfriend Vanessa Woodfield before her shocking demise.
Suzy Merton, portrayed by Martelle Edinborough, first appeared in the Dales in 2022 and quickly became a fan favourite, featuring in several major storylines.
She is best known for her relationship with Vanessa Woodfield, played by Michelle Hardwick, which despite its challenges, including Suzy's past drug issues, was adored by fans.
However, this week saw a tragic twist when Suzy was killed off in a shocking accident. Audiences watched in horror as two limousines carrying 17 villagers crashed, putting everyone at risk.
The women's limo ended up in an icy lake after Charity, played by Emma Atkins, swerved to avoid hitting Noah Dingle, portrayed by Jack Downham, who was wandering alone and disoriented.
In a heartbreaking turn of events, Suzy died after hitting her head on the roof of the car. The others managed to escape from the sinking vehicle, leaving Vanessa to watch in despair as the limo sank into the lake with her beloved girlfriend Suzy inside.
Now, viewers are speculating that Suzy was concealing a significant secret from Vanessa. Fans online are suggesting she was having an affair with Mary Goskirk, played by Louise Jameson, reports Leeds Live.
"I think Mary and Suzy were having an affair and it will all come out now. Remember Mary blowing a kiss at her before they got in the Limo," speculated one eagle-eyed Emmerdale fan on a Facebook group dedicated to the soap.

This theory gained traction among viewers, with another adding: "Suzie wasn't for telling ness she loved her back in the limo, I think something was odd."
