Coronation Street’s Jesse and Adam ‘didn’t steal Damon’s cash’ as real culprit 'exposed'

Coronation Street fans are convinced they know who stole Damon Hay's cash after his lock-up robbery stash was taken.

Coronation Street: Damon gets arrested by Police

Coronation Street fans are convinced they've figured out who nabbed Damon Hay's stolen loot - and it wasn't Jesse Chadwick or Adam Barlow.

The notorious Damon (Ciaran Griffiths) recently discovered Bethany Platt's (Lucy Fallon) surgical nightmare. Viewers will remember that she was recently hospitalised with sepsis, a perforated bowel and pneumonia after a disastrous surgery abroad.

She now has to live with a permanent stoma. Upon hearing about Bethany and the escalating medical bills from jail, Damon, who had an on-again-off-again relationship with her mother Sarah (Tina O'Brien), offered to help financially.

Damon proposed to cover the costs with money he had stashed away - funds obtained in an armed robbery. However, Sarah didn't get Damon's voicemail; instead, it was found by Adam (Sam Robertson).

After a conversation with his uncle, Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard), Adam was instructed to erase the voicemail, as the money was ill-gotten. This week, while discussing the money, Adam was confronted by Jesse Chadwick (John Thomson) - Gail Platt's (Helen Worth) new flame, reports the Liverpool Echo.

However, Adam later confessed to Sarah, after her mother Gail put their house on the market to help cover Bethany's bills. Sarah then spoke to Damon, who revealed that the money had been taken from the lock-up, assuming Sarah had picked it up.

Damon was left utterly bewildered when Sarah immediately denied tampering with the stash. As his shock grew, a check of the lock-up confirmed the cash had vanished, pointing to an unknown thief.

Moreover, upcoming spoilers tease that Adam is taken aback by the theft news, suggesting he's not the culprit. Jesse faces interrogation too, yet Corrie enthusiasts are sure he's innocent.

Corrie David

On a Coronation Street fan page on Facebook, the consensus is that David Platt, portrayed by Jack P Shepherd, is the real perpetrator, especially after being incensed by Gail's decision to sell their house, leaving him potentially without a roof over his head.

"David took the money he looked well shifty! " one fan declared confidently. Echoing the sentiment, another added: "David, so he can buy the house." A third contributed: "I think David," while another concurred: "100%."

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
