Coronation Street fans believe they have cracked the mystery surrounding Jesse Chadwick's dramatic comeback to the beloved Weatherfield.
John Thomson, who portrays Jesse Chadwick, made his initial entrance to the show in December 2008 and later became a staple the next year. His character is well-known for having romanced the iconic Eileen Grimshaw, played by Sue Cleaver.
Fast forward to 2010, and Jesse waved farewell to the cobbles. Yet, in a twist that has residents gossiping, he stepped foot on the street again this very week.
Jesse's reappearance serves as a pivotal moment in Gail Platt's (Helen Worth) departure. The esteemed Helen bids adieu to the soap after an incredible half-century on screen.
And it was during Wednesday's gripping episode (October 9) when Jesse turned up, ostensibly to reconnect with Gail, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Their unexpected camaraderie dates back to a nostalgic time in Thailand, as revealed on the recent show. But fans are abuzz, theorising about Jesse's genuine motives behind his sudden return.
Adding fuel to the fire, soap pundit Sharon Marshall teased insights on 'This Morning' (October 9), hinting at a hidden agenda. She tantalisingly posited: "People hiding secrets. You will see that Jesse is hiding something, what's everyone keeping quiet?"
Now, the Coronation Street community thinks they've sussed out Jesse's concealed truth and it spells trouble for Gail.

In a buzz of speculation on a Corrie fan page on Facebook, a user pondered: "Thoughts on Jesse?" This prompted another fan to voice their suspicions: "Don't trust him. He's probably killed someone, he's shady imo."
One fan speculated: "Defo something along those lines." A fellow viewer chimed in: "Oh no Gail! She never has any luck with men."
Another soap enthusiast predicted: "He will whisk Gail off into the sunset with his big luxurious life in the sun. Or he will try and kill her entire family. I think the second," they added. Meanwhile, a fourth fan expressed their distrust, saying: "I don't trust Jesse at all, his chemistry with Gail seems fake."
