GBBO: Briony misses out on the Bake Off final

Briony May Williams has been on our TV screens for several years after she first made some epic bakes on the Great British Bake Off.

Briony was born with a left hand that stops at the wrist, which she calls her 'little hand', and had requested that it not be mentioned on Great British Bake Off as she didn't want to be labelled 'disabled'. She even turned down the offer of using special equipment, saying she wanted to be treated the same as everyone else.

Although she didn't make it to the final of the Channel 4 baking competition, Briony's charisma and talent have led her to become a beloved TV presenter, and presented on many programmes such as BBC Morning Live, Food Unwrapped, and the property series Escape to the Country.

But beyond the camera lights, what do we know about Briony's world away from the screen?

The TV presenter currently lives in Bristol with her husband Steve, their nine-year-old daughter Nora, and Archie, their adorable cockapoo.

Briony is no stranger to giving her fans a peek into her family life and sharing mouth-watering recipes on social media, where she boasts an impressive following of more than 150,000 on Instagram.

In a heartfelt birthday tribute to her daughter Nora, Briony wrote: "How is our beautiful girl 9?!? Sat here sobbing my heart out putting this together because this little angel has grown into the kindest, sweetest, funniest, weirdest and most incredible little lady."

"Happy birthday my darling Nora, you're my absolute favourite human and I'm so proud to be your mum, always. Love you a billion one hundred and so much more."

Briony also described her mother as the "bestest Momma that ever was or ever will be", writing: "Our family is the most beautiful, supportive, loving, kind group of humans and at the centre of it all is you Colleen Mckean."

"You are our heart and we adore you, more than you know. Thank you for everything that you are and all that you do, they say it takes a village and I love ours so much! Love you a billion one hundred."

Throughout a delightful year, Briony and her kin savoured vibrant experiences. She enjoyed a Girls Aloud concert, visited Lake Garda in Italy, took part in the London Pride celebrations and cosied up during a staycation in Brean, Somerset.

Outside of her family life, Briony often undergoes charity work and has served as an ambassador for disability charities Reach and Paul's Place and mental health charity Bristol Mind.

Just this summer, Briony served as Team Captain and completed a triathlon for the disability sports event Superhero Series.

Briony originally started baking after she was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and wanted to have something different to focus on while she was unable to work. She was a stay-at-home mum when she first applied for the Great British Bake Off.
