Outlander producer thrills fans as she teases season 8 location ‘takes her breath away’

Outlander producer Maril Davis has thrilled fans with a sweeping look at her journey to the filming location for the Starz drama’s eighth season.

The final installment of the popular drama is currently being filmed, with Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe reprising their roles as Jamie and Claire Fraser one last time.

Taking to Instagram, Maril posted a stunning video of Scotland’s gorgeous landscape as she travelled to the location.

“Sometimes a simple commute to work can take your breath away,” she opined in the caption.

“It never gets old, even after all this time.”

Outlander recently celebrated its tenth anniversary and has stayed just as popular as ever.

The Frasers’ story will continue in the second half of season seven very soon, with new episodes coming this November.

In the meantime, fans have loved Maril’s sweet update on the series as they shared her appreciation for the Scottish countryside.

“Thank you for always sharing your experiences while in Scotland with we Outlander fans. Scotland ya wee beauty!” one viewer replied.

Another said: “I'm glad to know that it's still a thrill to be there - it shows in your work.

“We will miss the series, but like many, I'm still rewatching and listening. Slainté.”

A third mused: “I’ve been to Scotland the last 3 summers. The green is greener than in any other place in the world and it seems you can touch the cotton clouds.

“You feel part of the nature. This feeling is priceless. Scotland will always be in your heart as much as it is in ours.”

While a final fan commented: “Coming to visit this beautiful country in a few weeks.

“If it wasn’t for Outlander series and the books, I probably wouldn’t have ever considered it.

“Also Sam’s book Waypoints, I think anchored my decision also,” they added.

As well as his memoir, Sam recently impressed fans by taking part in an impressive charity challenge to raise money for blood cancer research.
