Things to a surprisingly awkward turn during the latest instalment of Saturday Kitchen after presenter Matt Tebbutt was forced to caution a guest

Matt Tebbutt tells drinks expert Olly not to call guest Richard 'daddy'

Saturday Kitchen presenter Matt Tebbutt was forced to caution a guest during his popular culinary show as he called a celebrity "daddy".

The popular morning programme made for chaotic viewing on Saturday (September 14) as Matt quickly warned one of his guests minutes into the show. In the episode, the TV host was joined in the kitchen by chefs Rick Stein and Ching-He Huang, special guests Richard Ayoade, Jaega Wise and drinks expert Olly Smith- who was on hand to provide his expertise.

However as the show kicked off, Matt was forced to admit that things had "gone in a direction I didn't expect already" as comedian Richard pointed out something that took place off-air.

When Richard jokingly told him he would like Matt to make a "breakthrough" on anything he wanted to offload, drinks expert Olly said: "I would love to Daddy!"

Shocked by his comment, Matt quickly put a stop to it and said: "Don't call him daddy, that's weird! That's weird already," he added.

Laughing off the comment, Olly insisted that Richard was his "new daddy". But Matt, clearly red-faced, was not having any of it.

Giggling at the situation while reminding him of what he said at the start of the show, Jaega chimed: "Matt, you did say anything could happen didn't you at the beginning of the show." Referring back to Richard and Ollie's exchange, Matt replied: "Not expecting you to be called 'daddy' at this time of the morning!"

Seeing things already heading in a hilarious direction fans headed over to X to share their thoughts. Some also commented on just how funny Richard was.

One viewer said:"Great guests this morning."

Another wrote: "Pay Richard Ayoade double his fee already." Another impressed viewer also penned: "Never really come across Richard Ayaode before as tend not to watch mainstream TV but between bouts of working on my day off he is a welcome distraction. Very amusing."

The news comes after it was recently revealed that Richard has signed a three-book deal with publisher Faber and Faber to write a series about his "furious obsession with film with his innate sense of life's ridiculousness."

Talking about the deal, the actor and comedian Ayoade has said: "Faber and Faber has long been one of the most respected and prestigious publishing houses in the country. It is with great pleasure that I can be present at the start of its decline."

Saturday Kitchen airs Saturdays at 10am on BBC One.
