Grace season four is the ITV drama’s biggest yet so who is to star in its very first episode?
It’s been more than a year since DS Roy Grace (played by John Simm) and the gang were last seen with the show ending on a major cliffhanger.
As well as focusing on Grace’s personal life, the upcoming fourth outing will once again delve into a number of puzzling investigations that are bound to keep the team busy.
Who stars in Grace season 4?
DS Roy Grace - John Simm
DS Roy Grace will be heading up the intriguing cases once more with actor John Simm reprising his role as the titular detective.
Simm is best known for portraying Sam Tyler in the iconic series Life On Mars, as well as the Master in Doctor Who, and appearing in shows like The Lakes, Exile and Cracker.
DS Glenn Branson - Richie Campbell
Close by his side is Grace’s right-hand man at work, DS Glenn Branson who has also been in the drama from the very beginning.
He is played by actor Richie Campbell who starred in ITV’s Liar as Liam Sutcliffe, as well as Chris in the Netflix show Top Boy.
Cleo Morey - Zoe Tapper
Actress Zoe Tapper was Anya Taczynski in Survivors and Mina Harker in Demons.
Some of her other parts have been in Safe House, The One, Liar and Rules Of The Game, to name a few.
She is behind forensic pathologist and Grace’s girlfriend Cleo Morey who announced in the third series that she was pregnant.
Sandy - Clare Calbraith
Throwing a spanner in the works for Grace is his estranged wife Sandy, whose disappearance left him haunted for several years.
She has had a child and claims it to be Grace’s and to prove she is telling the truth, she snuck into his home to take a DNA sample in order to get a paternity test.
Actress Clare Calbraith will be remembered for Downton Abbey, BBC Two’s The Shadow Line and Home Fires.
Gavin Daly - Robert Glenister
Joining Grace for season four’s first episode is actor Robert Glenister who stars as Kevin Salisbury in Sherwood, Tony Conroy in The Night Caller and Martin Copeland in Suspicion.
He is behind Gavin Daly ini the debut instalment although few details are known about ahead of the episode.
Grace is investigating the robbery of thousands of pounds worth of antiques at a home with Gavin hoping for the “answers he has been desperately chasing for many years”.
Aileen Daly - Carolyn Pickles
It is thought that Aileen is Gavin Daly’s sister and is the victim of the robbery.
She is portrayed by Broadchurch’s Maggie Radcliffe star Carolyn Pickles who has been in the Harry Potter franchise, Vera, Doctors, Sister Boniface Mysteries and MotherFatherSon, just to name some of her work.
Sarah Courtney - Laura Aikman
It is believed that Laura Aikman’s character is a news reporter who is also looking into the robbery.
Actress Aikman has been in a plethora of shows such as Gavin And Stacey, Archie, Breeders, The Rising, The Job Lot and London Kills.
