Bargain Hunt's Eric Knowles' life at home as he opens up on 'free time'
Bargain Hunt's Eric Knowles' has been in the auctioneering industry for many years but he has offered some insight into his life off-screen with his wife.

BBC Bargain Hunt presenter Eric Knowles is an antiques expert who specialises in ceramics and glass. The 71-year-old started working as a porter in the ceramics department at Bonhams in 1976.
By 1992 he had set up Bonhams offices in Bristol and went on to be appointed non-executive director of scottishantiques.com. He first rose to fame as a ceramics expert on Antiques Roadshow.
After Tim Wonnacott left Bargain Hunt, Eric became one of a number of guest presenters hosting the show. He explained where his involvement in Bargain Hunt first began.
He said: "[It] came about after receiving a phone call from the commissioning editor at the BBC and who I have known for about ten years. We both hail from the North West so straight talking is the order of the day and she was convinced I would be perfect."
Had he not followed a career in antiques, he explained he could have taken two different routes. Eric shared: "One being in the big outdoors and the Forestry Commission or the indoor studio working in Radio as a DJ."

He has a wife called Anita and a son called Seb, who was tragically killed in a road accident back in 2015.
When speaking about how he spends his free time, he said: "My wife would argue that there is never such a thing as free time but I do enjoy getting stuck into our garden.
"In truth I am more of a vegetation controller than a gardener who is always in more need of a machete than a pair of secateurs."

Sharing more insight into his personal life, he said his biggest guilty pleasure is "walking along the edge of a beach preferably in Barbados".
Eric has been through a lot in his life, especially with the death of his 26-year-old son.
