EastEnders sensation Molly Rainford tactfully sidestepped the controversy surrounding Graziano Di Prima's recent exit from Strictly Come Dancing on Lorraine's Monday show.

The BBC has declared that it took immediate action after being presented with video evidence of Graziano's alleged gross misconduct involving Zara McDermott.

During her appearance on Lorraine to chat about her latest gripping EastEnders plot, the conversation inevitably touched upon the fresh Strictly scandal.

Molly's character, Anna Knight, is set to be embroiled in a harrowing drink-spiking incident at Peggy's bar.

Discussing the chilling plotline with Lorraine, Molly expressed: "When Chris told me about the storyline, I was really excited because I know that it is something that happens to everyone, women, men and young people.", reports the Mirror.

She elaborated: "I feel like my age group, it is so rife so the fact that people can see someone their age going through it, they'll be able to see the things to look out for and I feel like that is so important."

The conversation swiftly moved to the buzz around Strictly Come Dancing star Graziano.

Molly reminisced about her time on the BBC dance extravaganza with partner Carlos Gu, where she connected with her beau Tyler West.

Lorraine remarked: "Strictly Come Dancing has had a lot of drama and we are going to talk about that later on in the show but for you and Tyler it was a great experience wasn't it."

Deflecting the question about Graziano, Molly said: "I had the best time and I'm so glad that I was partnered with Carlos and I'm so glad that I met Tyler."

She added: "I made friends with so many people and we were just a really tight group and I am very lucky."

When Lorraine probed further, enquiring if Tyler danced, Molly revealed: "Yes we are always dancing but usually it is just two steps more than a Waltz I will say but we do live a salsa."

Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV.
