Emmerdale and Coronation have been pulled off air to make way for UEFA Euro 2024 Live in a move which is sure to upset fans. The ITV soaps will not air tonight and it’s only going to get worse for soap fans with months of schedule chaos ahead.

The long-running soaps have been removed from the regular schedule to make way for tonight's big game. ITV is showing Germany vs Scotland, the Group A match from the Euros.

And with the football tournament set to last until July, that means soap chaos for fans expecting to watch their favourite shows.

Also, the General Election will only make matters worse for soap fans, requiring changes to existing schedules.

EastEnders is not immune from schedule chaos as Wimbledon will also play havoc with broadcasts making it a very tricky summer for the soaps.

The highly anticipated game clashes with both Emmerdale and Coronation Street’s usual air time, hence them being taken off air on Friday evening.

Usually, Emmerdale airs half an hour episodes throughout the week with an hour-long instalment shown on Thursdays.

Coronation Street on the other hand, airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for an hour at 8pm.

Although ITV has yet to address the schedule change, according to the TV guide Coronation Street will air next Tuesday (June 17) with it also being pulled on Monday night.

This is the same for Emmerdale which will air for an hour on June 18.
