'Crucial risqué question all Love Island boys are asked – and how I got it wrong'
Model Rob Evans was invited to try out for ITV2 reality show Love Island - but he was 'just too humble,' he feels.
A former boxer and model, Rob Evans, has revealed he was rejected from Love Island due to his response during the interview process.
Rising to fame as a judge on America's Next Top Model and on the cusp of breaking into Hollywood, Evans' career took an unexpected turn after a fight.
At the peak of his success, he sought to join Love Island, recounting to the Daily Express' On The Edge podcast, "I went for the interview," but believes his amiable nature didn't fit the bill. "But I think I was just too nice to get on there."
He reflected on the experience: "I guess I just wasn't coming across the way they wanted me to."
He felt out of sync with "some of the characters" typically seen on the hit dating show, especially when faced with provocative questions.
One particular question during the interview may have sealed his fate.
When asked about his weekly romantic encounters, Evans now thinks he should have displayed more bravado as he was quizzed: "How many girls do you go out, and how many girls do you sleep with in a week?"
Looking back, he regrets his modesty: "I was being humble about everything... I just feel like I gave them the wrong impression for someone who should be on Love Island."
However, Evans suggests it might have been for the better, as the notorious reputation of Love Island is something he'd prefer not to be associated with.

This revelation followed his departure from America's Next Top Model, yet he remained optimistic: "And in my head I was still sure that something big was going to happen."
Rob revealed that despite his arrest and subsequent loss of his high-profile TV role following the altercation with Landry Macedo, his agent assured him he would bounce back to even greater fame.
However, things didn't pan out as expected, leading him to regret missing out on his Love Island opportunity.
He reflected: "Looking back now, I should have just jumped on it."
