ITV Emmerdale exits 'confirmed' as horror death betrayal sparks double departure

Emmerdale is set to deliver a dramatic twist next week as two characters contemplate their exit from the village.

In upcoming episodes, Nicky Milligan (played by Lewis Cope) finds it increasingly difficult to cope with his parents' deceit. Fans will remember that Nicky's mother, Ruby Fox-Milligan (Beth Cordingly), shockingly ran over Ethan Anderson (Emile John) in retaliation for leaving her son, Nicky, to die after a drink-driving accident.

Initially, Ethan appeared to have survived the hit-and-run incident. However, in a chilling turn of events later in the week, Ethan suddenly died, leaving his family heartbroken.

Nicky has been left repulsed by his mother's actions and his father Caleb Milligan's (Will Ash) defence of her. In the upcoming plotline, Nicky is resolved to distance himself from his parents and considers relocating with his boyfriend Suni Sharma ( Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana), reports the Mirror. 

Will the couple decide to leave Emmerdale and their families behind? Nicky made his first appearance in December 2022, while Suni made his entrance in July 2023.

In recent episodes, Ruby has been covertly interacting with the Andersons, concealing the possibility that she could be responsible for Ethan's death. Overwhelmed with guilt, Ruby plans to confess her crime in this week's scenes - but a revelation about Ethan leaves her stunned as Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) discloses his post-mortem results.

Ethan's funeral arrives and Charles is distancing himself from his partner Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker). He finds solace in Ruby, oblivious to her connection to his son's tragic end.

Overwhelmed with guilt, Ruby wants to support the family and reaches out to Charles in church. As her relationship with her son Nicky deteriorates over Ethan's hit and run, she decides to confess and breaks down.

Nicky consoles her, despite being appalled by her revenge attack on Ethan, who had abandoned Nicky after a recent accident. Later, Charles stands at Ethan's newly dug grave, grappling with his loss.

Ruby later approaches Charles, ready to confess everything as she plans to turn herself into the police. But upon her arrival, she's taken aback when Charles discloses that the coroner has determined Ethan's cause of death.

As Ethan's funeral commences at the church, Charles struggles to conduct the service, but how will he respond if he discovers Ruby's secret?
