James Martin says Saturday Morning will return in August

James Martin received messages of support after bidding farewell to Saturday Morning.

The TV chef, 51, revealed today's instalment (June 8) of the ITV programme was the last in the series as he prepares to take a break for the summer.

James took to Instagram with an image of the Saturday Kitchen logo alongside his 2024 TV Choice Award as he shared the update with fans.

Alongside the two snaps, the presenter wrote: "Thank you all for tuning in as we air the last show of this series before the summer break! We look forward to August and returning with more amazing guests and chefs for you! Thank you."

Fans flocked to the comments with supportive messages, with guest Richard Bertinet writing: "Thank you James and the all production team! Always a treat to be on the show! Get some rest! A bientot."

Another penned: "Will enjoy your show and will look forward to seeing you again in August. Have a good summer." A third agreed: "It's been epic. well done chef x."

"Gonna miss you and your show James but it’s great to hear you will be back in August. Enjoy your well deserved break with Ralph and Cooper and of course your birthday rally on 30th of this month," posted a fourth.

Echoing this, another fan said: "Thank you for all your fantastic shows and inspirational recipes. Have a lovely summer break and look forward to seeing you in August."

Viewers will still be able to get their Saturday Morning fix, with repeat episodes set to air from next Saturday (June 15). The upcoming instalment, first broadcast in October 2023, features former Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher and his wife Liz.

It comes after James opened up about his retirement plans, admitting he doesn't have any. He told Hello!: "I've got no plans as yet to do that and I'm looking at new projects all the time."

The former Saturday Kitchen host star is currently juggling television projects, restaurants, cook books as well as other jobs, therefore it's hardly a surprise that he added: "Some more relaxation might be great!"

James appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2005 and finished in fourth place. Despite his success on the BBC programme, the Yorkshire-born star confessed reality TV is not in the pipeline for him.

"I've no plans at the moment. The Saturday Show and The Adventures keep me pretty busy," he told the publication.
