Stabbing horror for Samson as he starts bleeding out

Lydia Dingle (played by Karen Blick) is worried about Samson Dingle's (Sam Hall) plans to head around Europe by car with his new friend Josh (Osian Morgan) and secretly hopes he will fail his test and the second-hand car Sam Dingle (James Hooton) has given him will not be road worthy. Soon, Samson’s chuffed when Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) gives his motor a seal of approval.

When Samson rolls up without ‘L’ plates and Josh announces Samson passed his driving test, Samson is miffed by Lydia’s perfunctory congratulations. Celebrating in the HOP Josh is unsubtly interested in newly-married Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson).

Feeling slightly dismissed by Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill), Josh hits on again - and it's clear that he knows that Matty is trans. Struggling to cope with Josh’s endless flirting, Amy leaves work early. When Matty Barton gives Josh some home truths about his behaviour and tells Josh and Samson to leave the premises Josh is left fuming and embarrassed.

Josh's ire grows when Matty gets the upper hand on him again, Outside HOP, Josh starts dead-naming Matty and heads back inside to teach him a lesson, Samson follows despite his misgivings. The situation between Josh and Matty grows increasingly hostile for Matty until Josh starts threatening him to give up the money in the till.

The stand-off escalates and Josh shoves Samson into Matty, causing him to be stabbed by the knife that Matty was holding. With Samson bleeding out and Josh standing back accusing Matty of coming at them with the knife, Matty is stunned to realise the narrative has been turned and panics about what the consequences might be for him.

Marlon and Rhona

Marlon and Rhona are at loggerheads in Emmerdale (Image: ITV)

Rhona makes decision that rocks marriage with Marlon Dingle

Rhona Goskirk (Zoë Henry) is sick of Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) harping on about her past actions. She tore into her ex in court, which saw him sent to prison for eight years leaving Marlon absolutely horrified. Rhona had gone against the plan they'd agreed on and left Ivy, whose mum died in childbirth, without her biological dad.

When Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) visits, Rhona can’t help engaging in a chat about a potential christening for Ivy. Marlon returns in the middle of the conversation, stunned that Rhona has seemingly made another major decision without him. Rhona explains that Charles was the one who raised the prospect of christening Ivy, however, the fact that Rhona always has a justifiable reason why she makes decisions without him is part of Marlon’s frustration with her.

Unable to take any more he launches a pan of food at the floor. Rhona’s devastated to hear that Marlon’s leaving to go camping with his best mate Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) to decide if he wants to continue being in a relationship with her.

On the camping trip, Paddy is aghast to hear that Marlon is still serious about divorcing Rhona. Paddy tries to inspire his mate to fight for his marriage with the same tenacity he used to fight his way back from his stroke, but can he get through to him? Meanwhile, Mary urges Rhona to take desperate measures to save her relationship, what will she do?

Dawn forgave Rose for her actions but Will didn't (Image: ITV)

Rose threatened with her last chance after blunder

Overwhelmed with exhaustion, hearing that Evan’s temperature is up after his chemotherapy, Dawn Fletcher (Olivia Bromley) anxiously interrogates Billy (Jay Kontzle) when he arrives at the hospital to see if some germs could have been transferred to Evan from the other kids.

Left with Will Taylor (Dean Andrews), Billy breaks down at the impossibility of keeping Evan safe from germs once he leaves the hospital.

At Home Farm, with Clemmie Reed and Lucas Taylor struggling to accept not being allowed to go to school, Dawn is grateful when Rose (Christine Tremarco) offers her some respite and convinces her to join her for a brandy to unwind.

However, Will’s horrified when he catches Rose offering Dawn some heavy-duty sleeping tablets. Telling her that Dawn is in recovery, Will warns Rose that she’s on her last chance at Home Farm.

When Dawn makes clear she’s forgiven Rose for her faux pas over the sleeping tablets, and is grateful for the time they’ve spent together, Rose basks in the warmth of her daughter’s acceptance. However, Rose is left riled when Kim Tate (Claire King) reminds her she’s a long way from Will’s forgiveness.

Rose tells Ruby Fox-Milligan (Beth Cordingly) about the latest hitch in the plan to destroy Kim but Ruby reminds her of the stakes of the operation.

Rose threatens to wind Kim up even further, in her plan to "bring her down". The meddling character will pretend to actually be Kim as she shows a client of Leyla Harding's (Roxy Shahidi) around Home Farm, where she has been living.

As the pair show the client around the potential wedding venue, Rose claims to be the owner of the estate - leaving Leyla completely baffled.

But will Kim find out? And will Rose be booted out of Home Farm as a repercussion?
