Shock as Clarkson's Farm 'faces axe' as Amazon Prime fails to commit to fifth season
The future of Clarkson's Farm remains an uncertain one, with no confirmation Amazon Prime will take Diddly Squat Farm on for a fifth season.
The next series of Clarkson’s Farm could be its last – despite the current one attracting record viewing figures for Amazon.
Executive producer Andy Wilman said the fourth series of the popular show about Jeremy Clarkson’s Diddly Squat farm in Oxfordshire is being filmed now, to be streamed on Prime Video next year.
But Amazon has not made a commitment beyond this. The programme has been a huge hit since it launched in 2021 and the third series, available now, has become Prime Video’s highest-rated UK original show and a global hit.
Wilman said: “I’ve got no feelings on whether there’s series five. Jeremy’s the same. He’s like: when we’ve got nothing left to say, let’s walk away.”
The producer, who worked with Clarkson on the BBC’s Top Gear and Prime Video’s The Grand Tour, said Clarkson’s Farm’s success had shocked his friend.
“He never saw this coming in his career at the age of 64.” Clarkson has always been open about the show's premise - insisting to fans that it's not scripted or pre-planned.
The show's success has even reached the US, despite the entire theme being about farming in Britain. And viewers even queue to enter Clarkson's Diddly Squat farm to buy merchandise from the series.
The potential shock move for Clarkson and Amazon to part-ways comes after Mr Wilman heaped praise on the show in an interview with Deadline.
He said the team only recognised the "real magic" of the show when a flock of sheep arrived at the Diddly Squat farm, coupled with the humorous antics between Kaleb and Jeremy.
Speaking to Deadline, he added: "Those are the moments where you go: alright, we've really got something here."

Jeremy Clarkson was recently questioned over when series 4 will air. He responded on Twitter, and said: “We will film it all this year.”
Clarkson’s Farm season 1 released in June 2021. Season 2 came out 19 months later in February 2023, and then season 3 released in two parts in May 2024.
Based on filming now and the previous gaps we can expect Clarkson’s Farm 4 in roughly July 2025.
