Fern Britton won't turn "potty mouth" on enemy Phillip Schofield on CBB
Fern Britton has warned she has a sweary side but insisted she will be "kind" when spilling secrets about Phillip Schofield as she enters the Celebrity Big Brother house.
The former This Morning presenter was last night joined by former X Factor judge Louis Walsh and Kate Middleton’s uncle Gary Goldsmith on the ITV reality show.
And in her only in-depth interview before going into the house, Fern said she wanted a new adventure at 66.
Speaking about Schofield, who she fell out with during their time together on This Morning which she fronted for a decade until 2009, she said: “Apparently I’ve signed up to spill the beans!
“I think let’s approach with caution and kindness. It’s fair to say that towards the end we were not getting on. Things were tricky.
“I haven’t been on that show for 15 years. I don’t know anything that’s been going on since then. But I did love This Morning. I absolutely loved it. I wasn’t expecting to resign on the day I resigned.
“There’s a lot of stuff that I have obviously learned from and toughened up a bit.”
Viewers are also set to see a new side of mother-of-four Fern, as she will turn the air blue in the house. She added: “They might be surprised at how much I swear! I’ve got a potty mouth. I taught all my children all of the words and how to use them properly. Context is always a thing. Context, never in aggression. Only ever for amusement!”
Fern is one of the more surprising names to say yes to the show, having stayed off screen in recent years after becoming a bestselling author. “I said yes because I could do with an adventure. I’m just expecting to have an interesting time and a laugh.”
But she admits that she wants to grill the celebs for the gossip. Twelve stars went into the Big Brother house last night with Sharon Osbourne entering for a few days as a “celebrity lodger”.
As well as the 12 stars in the line up, TV star Sharon Osbourne also entered the CBB house. But the former X Factor judge is not eligible to win and is only a "guest" on the show who is not staying for the full three week run.
* Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
