Don Warrington, who plays Commissioner Selwyn Patterson, caught up with Death in Paradise co-star Tahj Miles on the latter's podcast The Table Read about the hit BBC show.
Series 13 of Death in Paradise landed on BBC One earlier this month, with fan-favourite Selwyn remaining an integral part of the show on the fictional Caribbean island of Saint Marie.
Tahj, who plays Officer Marlon Pryce, on the show asked Don during a recent episode of his podcast about getting shot as part of the 100th episode of the show.
Tahji said: "Getting to the nitty gritty, you catch a bullet in [one] episode, how did you feel about it when you got the script?
He continued with enthusiasm: "I'll tell you how I felt about it, I was excited, I couldn't wait.
"I always think something drastic has to happen to these characters now and again."
Don replied: "People keep saying to me, 'Were you nervous when you read it?' What? Why would I be nervous?
"They'd ask, 'Well, is that the end of you?' And I don't think like that. I was really excited about the stunt.

"I love that, and I loved doing the stunt really. And I remember people were really very nervous about it as I had to fall about four feet into the sea."
The actor said fans of the show were concerned about the scene, but Don was assisted by a crew member named Charlie who "did everything".
Don explained of the stunt: "He was in the water waiting for me and he grabbed me.
Don told Charlie he could swim, adding: "He was like my guardian angel as he said the current was strong. But I was like, 'Charlie, I can swim!'"
While Don said he was a confident swimmer, he felt he would have been helped by "someone" if he did get into trouble in the water.
Reflecting on the stunt, Don added: "It was good fun, I like stunts, I like doing things and it always surprises people."
The 72-year-old added: "I think people think I'm 150 years old and that I might break. I won't break!"
Death in Paradise episodes are available to watch on BBC iPlayer and the full interview is available to listen to or watch on YouTube.
