Yvette Fielding's This Morning appearance sparks uproar over life after death remark
Although she began her career as a presenter on Blue Peter, Yvette Fielding has now become better known for her ghost hunting adventures on Most Haunted.
Yvette Fielding says she believes in life after death
Blue Peter presenter turned ghost hunter Yvette Fielding caused uproar amongst This Morning viewers with her view on life after death. The star appeared on the show taking about her work on Most Haunted and discussed some of her paranormal experiences.
Hosts Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond listened intently as she regaled them with tales from working on her hugely popular supernatural series. However it was her remarks about the afterlife that really garnered attention after Alison asked her why people loved it so much.
"The burning question is 'what is this all about?' 'Why are we here?' and 'what happens to us when we die?'" she pondered before admitting: "I didn’t believe in life after death before I did this.
"I honestly thought when you’re dead you’re dead and it really depressed me. It really got me down," she confessed.
And now I know after all the evidence and everything that I’ve seen there is life after death. I think it’s, if you can, it’s giving hope to people and sharing your stories. They’re sharing stories with us to show that there is life after death."
However, viewers didn't share her enthusiasm for the subject and took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to air their views.
A user with the handle @Rise_and_grind7 fumed: "No it’s not giving hope it’s praying on the vulnerables insecurities #Thismorning."
@philm2244 Life after death! Why would there be life after death? Is there life before you are born? Of corse not. You will just cease to exist and return to your pre-birth state. #ThisMorning
