ITV viewers issued the same complaint just minutes into the second episode of After the Flood. Many fans felt the new drama, which stars Sophie Randle, was "slow" and "boring".
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter to share their thoughts, @revolver661 tweeted: "Hmm, how can we make a c**p drama seem more appealing to the masses? I know let's drop the F-bomb every other sentence. #AfterTheFlood." (sic)
@carolinehooton complained: "Urgh. #aftertheflood started strong but now we are down to the pregnant MC making really stupid, utterly unprofessional decisions for really stupid, unconvincing reasons. Good performances from the supporting cast but the story is utter tosh." (sic)
"Good God, what is this s**t? #AfterTheFlood," @Baronbigbucks asked as @gmi2 fumed: "The script and the acting are shockingly bad #aftertheflood."
@AndreaJackGoro went on: "Not sure about this #Aftertheflood abit slow! Looks abit drab! More colour in #Vera." (sic)

@mall0505 agreed: "This drama is edging towards being completely awful. Too many unlikeable characters to be enjoyable. #aftertheflood."
However, not everyone shared the same opinion as some viewers seemed to enjoy the drama.
@Lost_In_Films_ praised: "This has been a rarity two new good dramas in one night, at the same time, watching #AfterTheFlood."

Having sent a deluge of water crashing through episode one, After the Flood's second instalment saw PC Jo Marshall (Sophie Rundle) going against her superiors and saw her using a commercial genealogy website to trace the relatives of the dead man found in the underground car park.
The officer's rash move resulted in a woman by the name of Tasha (Anita Adam Gabay) turning up from France after finding out her brother might not actually have died five years ago, something she’s spent all this time believing.
The first episode also left viewers unimpressed woth many branding the new drama as "boring".
@wibster1979 commented at the time: "Think I’ve seen enough. Boring and unrealistic so far #AfterTheFlood."
Before the show's launch, actress Sophie said: "I know viewers will be both gripped and moved by the story we are telling.
"A story brought to life by the brilliantly talented team I am surrounded by, both on and off-screen.”
After the Flood returns on Wednesday at 9pm on ITV.
