Good Morning Britain's Ed Balls breaks silence on kicking Susanna Reid live on air
On Wednesday's instalment of Good Morning Britain, host Ed Balls suffered a major mishap when he accidentally hurt Susanna Reid.
GMB: Ed Balls kicks Susanna Reid in the head
Good Morning Britain descended into chaos on Wednesday morning during a debate surrounding aeroplane etiquette. As an array of seats were placed in the studio, host Ed Balls sat behind his co-host Susanna Reid.
But when he lifted his legs to put on the back of her headrest, he clipped her head instead. The ITV host automatically jerked forward holding her head in pain.
Since then, the host has taken to Twitter to share his thoughts on the accidental kick as he praised Susanna for how she conducted herself. He wrote: “So this didn’t go entirely to plan… (@susannareid100 handled it all fabulously, I’m still feeling completely mortified…”
Taking a cheeky swipe at Ed, Kevin Maguire, who was sat next to Susanna during the moment she got kicked joked the GMB host could sue her colleague. Retweeting the video, he wrote: “Full of admiration for @susannareid100 soldiering on after @edballs kicks her in the head. Does anybody know a good personal injury lawyer?”
When Ed realised he hit Susanna on the head, he automatically leapt up and rubbed her side as he questioned whether or not she was ok. Embarrassed by the whole ordeal, he sank back into his seat and put his hand over his mouth.
Andrew Pierce quipped: “He did that deliberately Susanna!”
Still holding her head, she commented: “That was- I don’t know if I can carry on doing the programme. I’m seeing stars.
“That is our debate this morning, should you put your feet up on public transport?”
Highlighting what had just happened, Andrew replied: “I think Ed Balls has just answered that question.”

Although the co-stars seemed to laugh about the blunder, Ed held his hands up to the camera in an innocent manner.
Later on in the show, Susanna gave an update on how she was doing while speaking to entertainment reporter Richard Arnold.
She quipped: “There's no lasting damage although I did go dizzy for about 20 minutes!"
