Coronation Street's Toyah Battersby has been used as a pawn for getting revenge on undercover copper Spider Nugent.
Coronation Street: Toyah refuses to leave with Spider Nugent
Coronation Street’s Toyah Battersby (played by Georgia Taylor) faces further horror in upcoming scenes as she’s held at gunpoint.
Official spoilers for the ITV soap reveal her partner Spider Nugent (Martin Hancock) is on a mission to rescue Toyah after she was kidnapped by an unknown woman.
Later on, he receives a message giving him instructions to follow, or Toyah will be killed.
Worried about her sister, Leanne (Jane Danson) reveals to Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) that Spider has banned her from getting the police involved as it could do more damage.
Following the instructions from the text, Spider arrives at a waste ground to discover the kidnapper has a gun and suddenly a shot goes off.

Has Spider managed to save Toyah in time? Or was he called to watch the love of his life die?
Toyah has found herself caught in the crossfire as a result of Spider’s involvement in trying to bring down far-right activist Griff Reynolds’ (Michael Condron) gang.
Before the kidnapping horror, Spider’s superintendent hinted he should move away and change his identity as Griff was out for revenge.
Despite there being a slight joyous moment when Spider asked Toyah to marry him, it all took a deadly turn when he got an anonymous message.

Heading off to meet the mysterious pursuer, informing only his superiors and colleagues about the meet-up, Spider’s baffled when nobody shows up.
However, what he doesn’t know is that the message was used as a distraction to get him away from the house while a woman goes to visit Toyah, introducing herself as Spider's ex-wife.
Bumping into Leanne, the penny drops that something isn’t right when he states his ex-wife isn’t in the UK.
Rushing to the house, both Toyah and Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) are nowhere to be seen, although it’s clear there’s been a disturbance as there’s blood all over the floor.
Spider and Toyah rekindled their romance when he returned to Weatherfield last year.
Speaking to Digital Spy, about their long-running relationship, soap star Georgia Taylor said: “We have such a rich and long history of characters that you can reference things that happened 20 years ago.
“You don't get the ability to do that in any other job, so I think that's a really special thing.”
Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV from 8pm.
