Yellowjackets, which stars the likes of Melanie Lynskey and Christina Ricci, was renewed for a third season back in December, but it looks like the upcoming season could be delayed.

After the season three renewal last year, Yellowjackets co-creator Ashley Lyle revealed how the current WGA writers' strike has impacted the upcoming season of the popular Showtime drama series.
As horror series Yellowjackets nears its halfway point in second two, the team of showrunners had geared up to tackle the storyline for season three.
However, after one day on the project, the team was forced to stop because the WGA announced screenwriters were going on strike in a bid to get higher pay and better working conditions.
The Yellowjackets team adhered to the strike meaning production on the upcoming series has come to a halt until the foreseeable future.
An announcement was then shared on Twitter by series showrunner and co-creator Ashley Lyle, giving Yellowjackets fans an update on the situation.

The showrunner commented on how “amazing” it was to be back working on the project, but insisted the team will wait for as long as necessary until the Writers’ Guild reaches a fair deal with studios.
Taking to Twitter Ashley wrote: “Well, we had exactly one day in the #YellowJackets S3 writers’ room.
“It was amazing, and creatively invigorating, and so much fun, and I’m very excited to get back to it as soon as the #WGA gets a fair deal.”
She also used the strike hashtags #WGA” and “#unionstrong” to show support for fellow writers.
