Wednesday dance scene: Jenna Ortega explains inspiration for dance
Wednesday has taken the world by storm and it features some unforgettable moments, including Jenna Ortega's dance scene.
Netflix: Wednesday Addams performs a weird dance routine
Wednesday has gone down a huge hit on Netflix with critics hailing Jenna Ortega as the perfect Wednesday Addams. In the series, she attends a Nevermore Academy dance with love interest Tyler Galpin (played by Hunter Doohan) and he is left in awe of her quirky moves. The actress choreographed the dance herself, all whilst battling Covid.
Wednesday star Jenna, 20, opened up about the difficulties she faced filming the Rave'N Dance scene.
She had been given the song a week before filming, which was The Cramps' 1981 single Goo Goo Muck.
Speaking to NME she said: "I'm not a dancer and I'm sure that's obvious.
"I just pulled from whatever I could… it's crazy because it was my first day with COVID so it was awful to film."
She said she felt like she had been "hit by a car" due to the body aches caused by the virus.

Once a positive test result was confirmed, production swiftly removed Jenna from the set.
She did not have time to reshoot the dance scene, so the first attempt is what is featured in the series.
Speaking to Netflix, she said she felt "really insecure" about stepping out of her comfort zone.
Opening up about what inspired Wednesday's dance moves, Jenna tweeted that Siouxsie Sioux, Bob Fosse's Rich Man's Frug, Lisa Loring, Lene Lovich, Denis Lavant, and archival footage of goths dancing in clubs in the ’80s helped inspire the routine.

Eagle-eyed fans would have spotted how she paid tribute to former Wednesday actress, Lisa.
The star played the role in the 1960s and Jenna copied one of her dance moves for the routine.
She also gave a nod to John Astin's Gomez Addams with a Latin-style move.
Director Tim Burton paid tribute to the young actress, calling her "one of the most talented people" he has worked with.
He said: "She's like a silent movie actress in the sense that she's able to convey things without words.

"Her words are very strong, and she's got a very strong point of view, but to show the subtleties underneath that was very, very exciting.
"It's exciting to see Wednesday as an older character.
"We usually see Wednesday as a younger girl, and so it was exciting to explore those weird feelings you have as a teenager that sometimes never really leave you.
"Jenna just gives it a real reality, which is fun. Because the themes are so real to me, to see it come to life and feel more real was exciting."
Jenna in turn praised the director for being so supportive.
She said: "Tim is one of the sweetest directors I've ever worked with, but also the most detail-oriented.
"He's a collaborator, which is nice, especially as an actor.
"He’s somebody who trusted and valued what I said and ensured that it was heard on set. That was really, really meaningful to me.
"I felt really supported by Tim. He always asked for my opinion, always asked what I thought about certain shots or setups.
"He's not even really aware that he's Tim Burton. I feel very, very lucky to have worked with him."
Wednesday is on Netflix now.
