‘I can't ever unsee this’: MAFS UK viewers slam ‘cringe’ intimacy week challenge
Married at First Sight UK viewers were left feeling slightly uncomfortable after seeing the challenge newlyweds April and George had to take part in during intimacy week.
MAFS: April paints George naked in funny clip
During Monday’s instalment of Married at First Sight, fans saw the newlyweds embark on intimacy week to try and deepen their connections with one another. One task saw bride April paint her new husband George nude with nothing but fruit to cover him, although viewers were not impressed.
Last week fans saw new couples Gemma and Matt and Sophie and Jonathan join the experiment as the latest additions.
Although viewers saw them set off to enjoy their honeymoon and get to know one another, the original couples were embracing intimacy week with their partners.
From long hugs for deeper connections and staring at one another to strengthen bonds, to fun and intimate toys, each pair was tasked with a different challenge.
One of which saw bride April draw a portrait of her new husband George completely in the nude with nothing but pieces of fruit covering himself.
Laying exposed to his wife, George asked: “Why do you think they put you drawing me?” With April replying, “So I can appreciate every part of you.”
Speaking to the camera away from his wife, George commented: “I’m lying on the couch and she’s drawing me.
“It looks like she’s being pretty attentive to what’s in front of her so I’m pretty happy.”
However, it looked as though viewers watching were less than impressed as many cringed at the portrait task, with others finding it disgusting.
Twitter user NathanielBen82 said: “I can't ever unsee this.”
Gav Coleman added: “George getting drawn like one of April's French boys…”
“I hope the fruit goes straight in the bin [sick],” remarked MrsTeacher.
Bajan20101 added: “Hope they fling that fruit...yuk.”
Speaking off camera, she said: “My intimacy with Duka is something that I’m working on.
"But, when there’s pressure on it and everything’s analysed makes me want to clam up.”
When sex expert Charlene Douglas told Whitney what she’d like her to do with Duka, which included staring into his eyes intensely, she laughed as she shouted “no!”
Duka revealed off camera that he thinks Whitney's response could be her coping mechanism towards intimacy, but will continue to work on their marriage and bond.
Married at First Sight continues Monday to Thursday on E4 from 9pm
