Leanne Battersby (played by Jane Danson) has struggled to deal with the death of her only son Oliver but has convinced her loved ones she’s moving forward with her life. The Coronation Street resident claims she’s spending Christmas with family but in reality will spend it alone. However, could Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) be to blame for not realising her sister’s intentions?
Speaking to press including Express.co.uk, Georgia revealed how Toyah’s fostering plans have impacted her relationship with Leanne.
Georgia began: “Hugely the timing is really difficult, to say the least.
“But as far as she's concerned she believes that Leanne has gone to France to see her mum Stella and Eva and spend some time with her.
“The fact she believes that she's physically distant, as in, in another country I think that makes it easier for her to kind of enjoy the moment with the baby.”

“She feels Leanne is elsewhere and being taken care of,” Georgia continued.
“That's not to say that she's not in her thoughts and she is and she's trying to call her and text her.
“She's very much aware of that but also in this bubble with this new child.”
In upcoming scenes, Toyah and Imran Habeeb (Charlie de Melo) bring home their first foster child.
But when Toyah takes baby Mason for a stroll, she fails to notice Leanne watching from the window of her flat.
Toyah’s convinced Leanne is staying with family but should she have been more aware of her sister’s state of mind?
The Coronation Street actress explained Toyah wants to believe Leanne is coping more than anything.
When asked if Toyah knows Leanne is struggling, she said: “No because I hope that if she was, she would be a bit more productive and a bit more pragmatic in trying to reach her.

“You would think with Toyah’s background as a counsellor that she's aware that grief is a long process.
“And in a way for someone losing a child is a process that never ends really.
“But I think maybe Leanne’s done such a good job of seeming to convince the world, to convince her and Nick that she's doing okay.
“And I think Toyah so wants to believe it that maybe she doesn't quite see the warning signs.”
“Maybe she just thinks okay this is good, this is what I want for her to be seeing her family and all of that,” she added.
“So I think in a way it's her wanting to believe that's the truth rather than it necessarily being the truth.”
Will Toyah think back to her time with Leanne before Christmas and realise the warning signs?
Or will Leanne continue to trick her loved ones that she’s coping while secretly falling apart?
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm.
