Alex Jones left concerned Michael Ball will 'quit' The One Show over sickness fears
ALEX JONES was left concerned at the beginning of Thursday's edition of The One Show her co-host Michael Ball would quit his role for the evening after he revealed he hadn't been feeling too well before the programme went on air.
The One Show: Alex Jones reveals Michael Ball ins’t well
Alex, 43, has been joined by Michael, 58, to present The One Show this week as the role of second host continues to change on a rotation basis. Before they even began speaking with guests on what was the theatre star’s last appearance on the BBC programme for the week, the hosts had to address how the singer wasn’t feeling too well. This led the mother-of-two to ask her co-star if he was actually going to make it to the end of the episode without walking off-set.
After introducing Michael as her co-host, Alex said: “He’s not feeling particularly well,” although he tried to state otherwise.
Explaining himself he told viewers: “I may have eaten something dodgy,” before the Welsh presenter jumped in.
“He’s a little bit clammy,” she added before asking the theatre star: “Will you make it to the end of the show?”
Admitting he was fine to continue, the mother-of-two joked the “antacid” was on its way with her co-star reiterating he was “fine” to carry on.
Moving on from her co-host’s sickness fears, the Welsh presenter then continued to tell viewers who they were going to be speaking with, but Michael’s ill health was soon brought back into the discussion.

Joined by sports presenter Gabby Logan, 47, and Pointless star Richard Osman, 49, the hosts and guests began talking about age.
With the BBC Sport star launching a podcast called the Midpoint, she explained: “I started this idea about a year ago because I regularly glance in the mirror and see this person who looks vaguely like me but not like the person I am inside.
“I still feel like I have the energy and drive and ideas of a 28-year-old an then I notice this person who looks a lot older.
“It’s kind of that juxtaposition where your body is changing and you’re getting older and I thought I don’t want the next 40 years of my life to be feeling I can’t achieve the things I want to do.”

He’s not feeling particularly well
The hosts went on to compliment the sports presenter, to which she added: “The Midpoint isn’t about aesthetics.
“It’s being physically capable of doing the things you want to do as well as having the bravery I think.
“So what I was thinking of doing was trying to find inspiring stories about people and then lockdown happened and I thought I would try and speak to as many mid-lifers.”
Explaining a bit more about the term “mid-life”, Gabby stated the age bracket was from 30 to 58, which Michael was quite shocked by.

“I’m sorry, Michael,” Gabby said, to which he joked he had no idea what his guest was talking about, asking: “Why would you talk to me?”
Alex then chimed in as she quipped: “Well if he felt sick before [he certainly does now],” to which her co-host added: “This is why I’m feeling poorly.”
Despite the comical moment, the sports presenter continued to explain herself, stating the host didn’t look 58.
