STRICTLY COME DANCING 2019 movie week got underway this evening, with the celebrities dancing to numbers from of the most loved films of all time. However, the opening dance left viewers divided.
Strictly: Professional dancers perform to music from Up
Strictly Come Dancing week 3 sees the 14 remaining celebrities fight it out once more to remain in the competition after James Cracknell, 47, was the first of the line-up to leave the BBC dance show last weekend. The show got off to a stellar start this evening as the professional dancers paid homage to the collection of Disney Pixar films, but some were unsure about the opening number.
The professionals dressed up as character from The Incredibles and Toy Story, as well as exploring the world of Up.
As the soundtrack from the emotional Pixar favourite played out, a film which sees a lonelier pensioner try to complete the last wishes of his late wife, some viewers were left in tears and took to Twitter to voice their reaction.
One wrote: “I have such an emotional reaction to Up that I can’t even deal with the music on this #strictly pro dance.”
A second posted: “The music from Up always makes me a bit ready, this is so lovely #Strictly.”

Following the opening routine, the first celebrity to take to the dance floor was Michelle Visage, 51, giving the Drag Race judge the stage to set the bar this evening.

Michelle took full advantage of the spot as she performed a Quickstep to the soundtrack of Cabaret.
The judges were overwhelmed by her efforts and awarded the American television personality with a total score of 35.
This was her best score to date, having received a 30 in week one for her Cha Cha Cha and a 32 in week two with her Viennese Waltz.
According to latest odds from the bookmakers, Michelle is rising through the ranks as one of the favourites to lift the Glitterball trophy later this year.

With the new series now in full swing, a former star of the competition has been offering advice to this year’s line-up.
Having participated in the show’s 15th series back in 2017, Debbie McGee, 60, has become a favoured alumni of the Strictly fall of fame.
The former contestant danced with Giovanni Pernice, 29, who is enjoying success with Drag Race judge Michelle this year.
Speaking to Express.co.uk, Debbie revealed what this year’s plethora of stars can do to ensure they give their best performance.
“You have to eat enough because you need all the energy,” the television personality explained.
“Eat everything in sight because you burn so many calories! And just enjoy it, and go for it,” the star declared.
“It is hard work but just do your best and that’s all you can do - enjoy the ride.
“Each week was different, you know, from the first week meeting the pros and starting to learn the launch number - I just loved it all.”
Strictly Come Dancing continues tomorrow night at 7.15pm on BBC One.
