Fear the Walking Dead season 5 spoilers: Daniel Salazar return will see Victor conflict
FEAR THE WALKING DEAD viewers are used to having things shaken up for them, and recently it was revealed that someone fans presumed was dead would be on his way back to the show - Daniel Salazar - and now the show’s bosses have spoken out about the impact his return will have on the show.
Fear The Walking Dead: Dramatic season five trailer
Fear the Walking Dead viewers have been bereft of Daniel Salazar (played by Rubén Blades) since season three.
The dedicated action hero was last seen hanging from the edge of a recently exploded dam, with his odds not looking so great.
And as if that wasn’t enough, Daniel was then shot by Victor Strand (Colman Domingo).
Viewers were left with an ambiguous ending, however, as they eventually saw Daniel staggering away, leaving hope that he may one day return.
And season five will see that exact return, as revealed in the brand new trailer from early last month.
As the premiere of Fear the Walking Dead’s season five draws ever-closer, the show’s bosses have begun speaking about Daniel’s shocking return.
Andrew Chambliss, showrunner for Fear the Walking Dead, recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about Daniel, and what is to arrive alongside his return.
He explained: “The other thing that is very interesting to us is what’s going to happen when he finds some of these characters who he knew during season three.
“Obviously, the most explicit relationship is the one with Victor Strand. Strand has come a long way since he shot Daniel in the face.”
Viewers will remember Victor has been striving to better himself in the past two seasons - but will this be enough o convince Daniel not to hurt him?
Andrew continued: “Strand has been seeking his own redemption, and I think the thing that will happen when Daniel Salazar enters the story is it’s going to make both men question who they are.
“Whether they can overcome their past, and really test whether Strand has become a new man.”
But when Daniel returns, will the pair be able to get along during the apocalypse?
The new season of the show is due to bring endless terror and torment to the fan-favourite characters.
And it looks like Morgan (Lennie James) could be in danger in season five.
In the trailer Alicia Clark (Alycia Debnam-Carey) can be seen struggling to get through the show, but Morgan is there to give her some support.
He explained: “It’s not supposed to be easy. It should be hard. It should be.
“Maybe that’s how we know we’re on the right track.”
But will Morgan’s “right track” lead him to an untimely end?
Fear the Walking Dead returns to AMC on June 2 and AMC UK the following day.
