Britain’s Got Talent welcomed a range of acts last weekend and none was cuter than dog, Finn.
Along with his owner, Dave Wardell, the pair of them read the judges minds in a seriously impressive routine.
But it was an emotional affair for all as it was revealed little Finn had suffered a near-fatal wound while saving his owner from a knife attack.
The brave police dog took a 10-inch blade stabbing but thankfully pulled through, as was shown in their routine on Saturday.
Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, owner Dave admitted it was difficult for him to watch the heartbreaking scenes.
When asked how he responded to the amount of tears in the audience, the former police man said: “We were hoping that would be the case.
“I don’t watch [the video which accompanies the act showing Finn’s story] as I would be in tears and I wouldn’t be able to continue.
“Simon Cowell couldn’t watch either.”
Dave is currently campaigning to change the law regarding animal cruelty.
He, along with others, is aiming to get the same protection for service animals that humans have.
Following on from Dave and Finn’s appearance on Saturday night, he admitted their website couldn’t cope with demand.
“Our website crashed on Saturday!” Dave laughed.
He continued: “Everyone in the country loves dogs, it’s been great see the reaction.
“We’re still very much on cloud nine and everyone from Britain’s Got Talent was fantastic.
“Finn made lovely friends and got lots of cuddles.”

Fans will have to wait and see if Dave and Finn have made it through to the live semi finals.
But nevertheless, they are training hard just in case.
“We’re sworn to secrecy,” Dave admitted, when quizzed on if fans can see them in the live shows.
“Finn and I have not done everything for fame and fortune. If we’re lucky to get through, we’re training hard.”
Britain’s Got Talent airs tonight on ITV at 8pm.
