The new series of Dancing with the Stars Australia started on Monday, February 18 on the nation’s broadcaster Channel 10. Grant Deyner and Amanda Keller are on hosting duties on the new series of the dancing competition. Dancing with the Stars Australia features its first-ever same-sex couple in the form of drag star Courtney Act and her professional partner Joshua Keefe.
Who are the Dancing With The Stars judges Australia 2019?
There are three new judges on Dancing with the Stars Australia this year, marking a complete revamp of the panel.
In 2018 the judging panel consisted of Todd McKenney, Helen Richey and Kym Johnson.
Strictly Come Dancing star Bruno Tonioli even served as a guest judge on the show in the first three weeks last year.
Meanwhile, veteran judge Adam Garcia - who has been on the panel since 2013 - did not take part in last year’s series either and did not return.
Craig Revel Horwood
Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood has gone Down Under to offer up his discerning feedback on this year’s celebrities.
The Australian-British star, 54, is also a West End choreographer, dancer and theatre director who is expected to be the harshest member of the panel.
Craig has a long list of credits to his name having starred in productions of West Side Story, La Cage Aux Follies, The Danny La Rue Show and Ladies Night, among many others.
The judge is expected to be back on screens this autumn when the new series of Strictly Come Dancing kicks off but in the meantime, he will be critiquing Australian stars.
Sharna Burgess
Australian ballroom dancer, choreographer and performer Sharna Burgess will be joining the panel this year.
Although she’s based in Los Angeles, Sharna, 33, will be coming back to her home nation once more for Dancing with the Stars Australia.
She has worked across film, television and theatre having worked on Broadway as well as working with PETA and volunteers at the Children’s Hospital in LA.
Sharna has previously featured on Dancing with the Stars in the US as a professional, regularly making it to the final.
Tristan MacManus
Irish star Tristan MacManus rounds off the judging panel this year bringing his years of dance experience.
He has previously served as a professional on Strictly Come Dancing and was partnered with singer Jamelia.
Tristan, 36, also took part in the American edition of Dancing with the Stars for several seasons and taking to the dance floor with the likes of Pamela Anderson and Gladys Knight.
The dancer specialises in both Ballroom and Latin and was named the All Ireland Dance Champion in 2000.
Tristan is married to Australian model and dancer Tahyna Tozzi with the couple getting hitched in 2014.
