The Voice UK 2019: ITV series SMASHES The Greatest Dancer but suffers shock blow
THE VOICE UK 2019 continues this evening with the final round of blind auditions. Judges Sir Tom Jones, Olly Murs, Jennifer Hudson and will.i.am will try to complete their teams and it seems viewers are excited who will make it the knock out stages.
The Voice: Jennifer Hudson puts on show-stopping performance
The Voice UK smashed The Greatest Dancer in the ratings battle once again last week with the ITV series pulling in an average audience of 4.7 millions.
The BBC dance competition however only pulled in an average audience of 3.4 million viewers.
But as the competition heats up on The Voice UK, the ratings for the series have dropped slightly.
The week before last, the series hosted by Emma Willis drew in an average audience of 4.8 million viewers.
With the series heading into the knock-out stages, will the ITV series be able to pull back the figures?
Ahead of the battle rounds, Sir Tom Jones still has two spots to fill on his team.
Olly, Jennifer and will.i.am all only have one spot left on their teams.
Jennifer is currently the favourite to win this year’s series with contestant Nicole Dennis.
Sir Tom, however, is the outsider to win despite his success last year.
Petter Watton, a spokesperson for OddsMonkey, said: “It has been strange that Olly has been on top in the betting given how strong Jennifer’s act Nicole has been in the betting.
“So no surprise Jhud is now back on top with the Bookmakers.
“Still things could change with 10 acts still to come, but it seems most believe that Jennifer is best placed at this point.”
Will Sir Tom find the winning contestant in the final round of blind auditions?
Last week, viewers saw Jennifer perform an unexpected rendition of of Impossible Dream.
The Dreamgirls star was begged by Olly and Sir Tom to put on a performance to entertain the audience.
While Jennifer was initially hesitant, insisting she had nothing prepared, she went on to stand and belt out the hit.
She left many viewers in tears, with one writing on Twitter: “I am crying go Jennifer #TheVoiceUk.”
Another added: “Had a bit of an emotional day. Just turned on #thevoiceuk and heard JHud singing an now I'm crying like baby.”
“Actually brought tears to my eyes @IAMJHUD singing on #TheVoiceUK so powerful & emotional,” a third shared.
The Voice UK airs tonight on ITV at 8pm.
