The Chase: Anne Hegerty swipes at ‘LAZY’ contestant - you'll never guess what Bradley said
THE CHASE was back with another four contestants hoping to win a slice of the jackpot but for one, she was criticised for her effort.
The Chase: Anne makes ‘lazy old bird’ joke about contestant
The Chase returned with another instalment of the popular ITV quiz show tonight and joining host Bradley Host was Anne ‘The Governess’ Hegerty as The Chaser.
Following a solid performance from the first contestant who had secured a good £6,000 in the jackpot, it was Jo’s turn to face Anne.
As she stepped up to the podium, she struggled to answer several questions correctly during the cash builder round.
So much so, Bradley couldn’t help but make a cheeky comment.
He said jokingly: “Three grand. Bit of nerves,” to which she agreed before adding: “Yes, you’re a better player than that!”
Nevertheless, she went on to face Anne who also remarked at her ability to not answer the quiz show’s questions.
“Hello Jo,” Anne began before adding in a light hearted manner: “Lazy old bird meets grumpy old bat,”
Both the contestant and Bradley fell about laughing at the quick quip delivered by Anne.
“I’m cross Richard got through, so I don’t want you to,” Anne continued.
However, Anne didn’t need to be concerned because Jo failed to beat her and left the competition empty handed.
Those watching the show at home took to Twitter to discuss the moment.
One said: “‘You're a better player than that’. For f**k sake Bradley, if that was the case, she'd score more than f**king 3! #TheChase.”
“Did Anne just call that woman a lazy old bird? Brilliant lol #TheChase,” another added.
“Anne’s really funny tonight. #TheChase,” a third tweeted.
The final chase saw only two contestants face Anne with the hope of winning a share of £10,000.
But did they manage to outrun the Governess for the final time?
Lazy old bird meets grumpy old bat.
Unfortunately for the contestants Anne was just too good, with only one attempt to push back, she completed the round with 53 seconds remaining.
Therefore the £10,000 was taken off the table and the two contestants left with nothing.
It comes after a previous contestant astounded her fellow teammates with her decision.
She managed to get £4,000 in the cash builder, yet then opted to go for chaser Shaun Wallace’s offer of minus £4,000.
