The Crown season 3 spoilers: ‘I find it hard’ Olivia Colman spills all on role as Queen
THE CROWN season three newcomer Olivia Colman has already filmed her scenes as Queen Elizabeth II. However, she also plays another historic Queen in her latest film and now compares playing the two monarchs.

Olivia, 44, takes on the role of Queen Elizabeth II for season three of The Crown, previously played by actress Claire Foy, 34.
Netflix viewers are set to see the actress take on the role, however, she will also appear as Queen Anne in the theatrical film The Favourite.
The actress takes on the role as the historic Queen, who sat on the throne doing the 18th century when Britain was at war with France.
However, ahead of The Crowns return to Netflix in the New Year, Olivia ha revealed it is much harder playing Queen Elizabeth than Queen Anne.
It could not be more different.
The actress told the Press Association, speaking about the two roles: “It could not be more different.
“I find the harder is Queen Elizabeth because everyone knows what she looks like, everyone knows what she sounds like, everyone has an opinion on whether the casting is right.”
However, viewers have already been treated to a number of glimpses into Olivia’s role as the reigning monarch in images from filming.
Most recently, two new images have shown Olivia and co-star Helena Bonham Carter, 52, with the actors who will play their husbands.
As Queen Elizabeth, Olivia is joined by Tobias Menzies, 44, who is taking on the role of Prince Phillip from Matt Smith, 36.
Olivia is seen wearing an embroidered cream suit, with her hair pinned back in immaculate fashion, looking quite composed as the monarch.
Tobias dons a charcoal grey suit and tie, accompanied by a white shirt, looking on with a frowned expression beside his wife.
The second image shows a different tone however as Helena stars as Princess Margaret, a role she has been handed by Vanessa Kirby, 30.
Helena is seen wearing a orange coloured gown as she dances with her husband Lord Snowdon, played by Ben Daniels.
Ben dons a black suit and bowtie number and is seen happily dancing with his arms, however the relationship between the two will not last long.
Viewers will see the marriage breakdown over the course of the third season as the time period shifts between the 1960’s to the 1980’s.

The split was controversial for the Royal Family at the time and viewers will be given a glimpse of what happened between the pair behind-the-scenes.
In the role as Margaret, Vanessa was seen falling in love with the photographer, however, his passion for his craft drove a wedge between the pair.
As the third season progresses, viewers will also get a look at Princess Margaret’s rumoured romance with landscape gardener Roddy Llewellyn.
As well as these images, some pictures from on location filming have shown Prince Charles (played by Josh O’Connor) with his uncle Lord Mountbatten (Charles Dance).
Ot has been reported actor Charles Dance, 72, will play a huge role in the storyline between a young Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles (Emerald Fennell).
