Stacey Dooley's Strictly partner Kevin reveals SHOCK ‘disadvantage’ during show
STACEY DOOLEY had an incredible night on Strictly Come Dancing this weekend as she took home an enormously high score - but her partner has now spoken out about their disadvantage in the Lindy Hop-a-thon.
Strictly: Kevin Clifton reveals his Lindy Hop-a-thon secret move
Stacey Dooley had perhaps her best night on Strictly Come Dancing this weekend.
Her partner Kevin Clifton was tasked with teaching Stacey the Paso Doble - one of the toughest dances in the show.
And their incredible performance bagged them 39 points overall - comprised of three perfect scores from the judges.
However as soon as they left the performance area Stacey and Kevin were rushed off to get changed for their next outing.
Noting this, It Takes Two host Zoe Ball pointed out Stacey was seen running around the Lindy Hop-a-thon on Kevin's back during the performance.
Stacey and Kevin went on to explain their thinking behind this dance move, and why it was necessary.
Once the dancers were thrown into the first ever Lindy Hop-a-thon routine, they were all pitted against each other simultaneously.
Speaking about the performance Kevin admitted: “We were at a slight disadvantage because we went straight on.
“And all the other couples - they were downstairs having a little practice!
"So I’m thinking: ‘She’s probably a bit tired.’”
“But also that is a Lindy Hop thing, when they play the guitar,” he explained, while mimicking the playing motion.
He went on to add: “I thought, in rehearsals, everyone is standing on the spot.
“So we thought maybe we could get noticed by running around a bit.
"Doing something to stand out a bit."
Earlier on in the show Stacey and Kevin spoke about getting their scores, to which Kevin explained: "Stacey was saying: 'I know i’ll never get a ten!
"'We can probably do some good dances', she was saying. 'We can probably get a seven, couple eights, couple nines.'
"And then the tens came out!" he exclaimed.
This weekend will see the pair take on the American Smooth to "I Dreamed A Dream" from Les Miserables.
But will they be able to beat their 39 points in musicals week?
Strictly Come Dancing continues Satuday at 7.05pm on BBC One.
