The CW have released synopsis and a trailer for next week’s episode.
The synopsis reads: “THE COVER-UP — After confronting the parents, who were part of The Midnight Club twenty-five years ago, Betty (played by Lili Reinhart) follows some strong leads in hopes of finding out who the true Gargoyle King is.
“Meanwhile, Veronica's (Camila Mendes) attempt to prove Archie's (KJ Apa) innocence lands her in hot water.
“Finally, Archie turns to Kevin (Casey Cott) for help making things right.
“Cole Sprouse, Madelaine Petsch, Marisol Nichols, Madchen Amick, Luke Perry, Ashleigh Murray, Mark Consuelos, Skeet Ulrich and Charles Melton also star.
“Rachel Talalay directed the episode written by Cristine Chambers.“
A trailer has been released to give fans a look at what’s in store next week.
It opens with some seriously creepy footage of some sort of ritual taking place in the woods.
A panicked Jughead (Cole Spouse) is heard saying: “I saw him - there are others.
“They look like his disciples.”
A quick shot of masked gargoyles standing in a circle around a fire flashes on screen.
Next is a shot of Archie and Veronica in bed. Veronica sleeps while Archie worriedly stares into space before he is shown still in hiding after escaping from juvenile detention this week.
“I don’t think I can go back to Riverdale,” he tells Kevin who asks him: “How far do you think you’re going to get?” before the two are shown running through the woods.
An ominous shot of the Serpents is shown and someone is heard saying: “Someone is sending us a message.”
Veronica and Jughead research a mysterious symbol and confront Joaquin (Rob Raco) about it, who reveals it means “sacrifice”.
The word sacrifice starts off a montage of shots in which many cast members seem to be affected by these mysterious forces.
In school, Josie (Ashleigh Murray) seems to be the next victim of the fainting epidemic taking over Riverdale.
Elsewhere, Archie seems to be making a tough decision on whether to return or remain a fugitive.
A tearful phone call between him and Veronica ends with her sobbing: “Don’t you make me say goodbye to you, Archie Andrews.”
The trailer ends with Betty confronting her mother amid another barrage of spooky, demon-like imagery.
“All of the secret. End. Now,” she says firmly to her mother Alice (Mädchen Amick).
