X Factor 2018: ‘Sound is s*** again’ Viewers EXPOSE more sound issues after cancelled vote
X FACTOR 2018 live shows were hit with major technical issues at the weekend with Saturday night’s vote being cancelled and reopened during the results show, with viewers outraged by further sound problems.
X Factor: Dermot apologises for sound issues during live show
X Factor host Dermot O’Leary, 45, was forced to apologise in the opening moments of last nights result show after two performances on Saturday night’s show were disrupted.
Danny Tetley and Anthony Russell had taken to the stage to perform but they, as well as the judges and Dermot, sounded rather unusual.
All 12 performances were replayed in full before the lines were opened last night, with both performers who faced technical problems remaining in the competition.
However, some viewers believed the issue had not be resolved for the results of the ITV singing show.
Have they messed up the sound again?
It was during former X Factor winner James Arthur’s performance of his new single Empty Space, when viewers believed the problems arose.
James, 30, was seen pulling out his earpiece at the beginning of the performance, seemingly distracted by the feedback he was receiving.
X Factor viewers took to Twitter at that moment to voice their frustration over the continuing technical problems.
One viewer wrote: “The X Factor sound is s*** again sack the sound man,” with another adding: “Have they messed up the sound again? #XFactor.”
A third commented: “Who ever is doing the sound on @TheXFactor needs a good word. Not good at all.”
“Hey X Factor it might be a good time to get a new sound engineer,” a fourth remarked as they referred to the previous night’s issues.
Continuing the flurry of outrage, another asked: "Have the X Factor buggered up the sound for a second night running?”
“Why do we need to see all of the performances again when there was only two of them affected? #XFactor,” a viewer wrote.
Another declared: “I’m not watching all twelve performances again, I’m switching over #XFactor.”
The issue arose in Saturday night’s show as the episode had been filmed during the day as judge Robbie Williams, 44, had touring commitments.
X Factor: ITV suffers MAJOR sound issues
A message was shown on screen during Danny and Anthony’s performances addressing the technical error, with another being shown as the performances were shown when lines were supposed to open.
It was clear to viewers the episode had been pre-recorded as neither Dermot or the judges realised or addressed the issue during the broadcast.
Robbie will be replaced by Le Chic musician Nile Rodgers, 66, who made his first appearance as judge during the results show.
Nile did not have the power to save an act, which mean the decision was down to Simon Cowell, 59, Louis Tomlinson, 26, and Ayda Field, 39, on who to send home.
After United Vibe were eliminated via the public vote, the judges decided to send home 16-year-old Mollie Scott.
X Factor continues Saturday at 8.30pm on ITV.
