Informer on BBC: Raza Shar actor Nabhaan Rizwan tells all on brutal filming accident
INFORMER continues this evening and progresses Raza Shar’s harrowing storyline which follows him through his journey of becoming an informant for a counter terrorism division - but filming wasn’t always completely safe for actor Nabhaan Rizwan.
Informer: First look at BBC's gripping new spy thriller
Raza Shar (played by Nabhaan Rizwan) is going through a tough patch in his life.
After being arrested in the first episode Raza was blackmailed into working for Gabe Waters (Paddy Considine) as an informer.
And things are due to get worse for the youngster as he is determined to become enthralled deeper into gang life for Gabe to keep his family safe.
Although Raza is witnessing a difficult time in the show, his actor, Nabhaan, also had a rough time filming the show.
In an upcoming episode Raza will be seen getting away on a motorcycle.
And although the final cut may look like he has everything under control, the complete opposite was true.
Speaking to press including Express.co.uk Raza actor Nabhaan explained that he had a brutal fall off of a motorbike during filming.
He said the fall occurred “out in the countryside somewhere.”
His inexperience on the vehicle left him tumbling, he explained: “We were practicing and it was a really wet day.
“I didn’t know there was a rear brake and I hit the front brake.”
Despite this, Nabhaan wasn’t left worried for his life, as he explained the 10mph skid made him “feel like Valentino Rossi.”
Luckily this mishap seems like the only bought of bad luck Nabhaan has experienced so far on the show.
Informer is Nabhaan’s first acting job, and although he gelled well with the script straight away, director Jonny Campbell made him do a pre-shoot.
He claimed to have put Nabhaan “through his paces” a little before official shooting had begun.
He went on: “We had lots of workshops just to make sure that chemistry was there - and it was almost like we couldn’t believe with Nabhaan that his first ever [performance] was so good - so we kept doing it over and over again just to make sure.”
And despite having faith in Nabhaan's abilities, Jonny added: “It was Nabhaan’s first thing.
“It felt like a good idea to have a decent set all ready where he had nothing to say - except look cool, or pi**ed off, or just observe the area.
“He’s never been with a camera before - so we just gave him a chance to make him feel like he’s got something under his belt.”
Nabhaan himself also added that the pre-shoot was “really helpful,” and allowed him to better get into character.
Informer continues Tuesday at 9pm on BBC One.
