Strictly Come Dancing 2018: ‘She gonna leave me’ Seann and Katya Saturday song lyric SHOCK
STRICTLY COME DANCING song choices have been revealed and the lyrics for Seann Walsh and Katya Jones’ dance song makes references to a woman leaving her boyfriend.
Seann Walsh, 32 and Katya Jones, 29, will be dancing to Lunchmoney Lewis’ hit song Bills when they return to the Strictly Come Dancing dance floor this Saturday.
Seann was pictured kissing his professional dance partner last week and the pictures were published in a newspaper on Sunday.
In a public announcement after the pictures were released, Seann’s ex-girlfriend Rebeca Humphries took to Twitter to announce the couple’s split.
However, the song choice for the BBC dance show this weekend could raise eyebrows with fans of the show.
In the song, performed by Lunchmoney Lewis, the US singer talks about needing money to pay his mounting bills.
One lyric states his girlfriend will leave him if he doesn’t make enough to cover the price of the bills.
The lyric states: “And my girl just don't know how. Said she gonna leave me if I don't home with 50 thousand.”
It’s not believed the song or its lyrics are connected to the Strictly drama, it is, however, unfortunate the song references a woman leaving her boyfriend.
Katya and Seann will be dancing a Charleston this weekend after performing a Paso Doble for Movie Week, impressing the judges with their Matrix themed routine.
The dancing duo received an impressive score of 30 for their performance and managed to survive the vote off which saw Lee Ryan, 35, eliminated from the competition.
I would like to offer sincere apologies for my actions
The song choice comes just days after Seann’s now-ex girlfriend Rebecca published a statement about their relationship stating she had not received an apology for his kiss with Katya.
The post read: “It’s incredibly good of Sean(n) and Katya to apologise in the media.
“I have received nothing, other than the support of my family, friends, and a host of strangers on the internet who all wanted to make sure I was OK."
Both Katya and Seann took to Twitter after their kiss made newspaper headlines.
Seann wrote on Monday: “In light of the story in today's newspaper I would like to offer my sincere apologies for my actions.
This is no excuse but it was a one-off drunken mistake which I am truly sorry for,” the comedian continued.
Katya is married to fellow Strictly dancer Neil Jones; the pair tied the knot back in 2015.
Taking to social media, Katya also tweeted an apology for her behaviour on Monday.
She wrote: “I’m so sorry about any offence or hurt I may have caused with my actions. I wasn’t thinking and it was a one-off mistake after some drinks.
“I love my husband and we are very happy together, this is not a reflection on our relationship,” the dancer continued.
Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 6.40pm on BBC One.
