Coronation Street spoilers: Johnny Connor murdered by Jim McDonald in SHOCK revenge twist?
CORONATION STREET’s Johnny Connor could be the next Weatherfield resident to end up dead in a shock twist over the coming weeks as Jim McDonald steps up his revenge on the ITV soap.
Corrie: Jim and Hannah discuss blackmailing Jonny
Johnny (played by Richard Hawley) has been receiving mystery threats over his one-night stand with Liz McDonald (Beverly Callard), with the blackmailer demanding money for silence on Coronation Street.
Viewers of the ITV soap know the blackmailers are in fact Jim (Charles Lawson) and Hannah Gilmore (Hannah Ellis Ryan) who is pretending to be the couples dad daughter Katie.
During tonight’s first trip to Weatherfield, Jim is told by Hannah to step up his game as he began to question taking revenge on his ex-Liz and son Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson).
However, could this incentive cause Jim to take drastic action and kill Johnny to get his hands on the cash?
Still harbouring feelings for his ex-wife Liz, Jim has recently been doubting whether he can go through with the scheme to rid her of all her money.
Jim was angry after Liz and Steve turned their backs on him when he was in prison and sought revenge by emptying their bank accounts, beginning a new life away from the cobbles with Hannah.
With Liz on his mind, Jim has been trying to divert Hannah away from the scheme, but the fraudster was having none of it.
Sat in the café, Jim reassured Hannah Johnny was bidding his time to get the cash together following their threats, telling her: “Don’t worry about it, he’s probably figuring out what to do, I mean let’s face it, we have asked him for a lot of money.”
However, when Johnny spoke to the scheming couple seemingly cheery, Hannah told Jim: “I don’t think he’s taking it very seriously.”
“I think he needs another prod,” she hinted at the Irishman.
Well, he needs to know you mean business
Trying to get Jim more invested in their plan, Hannah asked her accomplice: “I want to get his cash, and Liz’s, and skedaddle, don’t you?”
Hiding his true feelings, Jim replied to Hannah: “Of course.” But then the schemer issued a menacing threat towards Johnny, saying: “Well, he needs to know you mean business.”
Could this mean getting Johnny out the picture altogether and running away with the money before Jim finds himself back behind bars?
Jim could also kill off Johnny, knowing there may still be an attraction between The Rovers landlord and Liz.
Although the attraction is no longer as prominent, Jim could get a touch of the green-eyed monster and take down his love rival.
With actor Charles Lawson only returning to the cobbles for a brief stint, the storyline twist could see Jim back behind bars as his killer move is uncovered.
Next week, Jim will lock lips with his ex-wife when the conman tells her he has redeveloped feelings for her.
After Liz put her savings into "Katie’s" bank account, believing it was going towards medical treatment, Hannah continues to pursue Johnny.
However, will Johnny hand over the cash, or will he meet his maker before he has a chance?
Coronation Street continues tonight at 8.30pm on ITV.
