Strictly: Stacey Dooley reveals tips her boyfriend has given Kevin
Last week’s Strictly Come Dancing saw Stacey Dooley and professional partner Kevin Clifton perform the Cha Cha Cha and score 24 points.
Following the judges’ comments which were certainly mixed, Stacey revealed to host Claudia Winkleman she hadn’t been looking forward to the dance.
She claimed she had struggled with the routine and as a result, her mum and boyfriend had offered Kevin advice on how to make her more enthusiastic.
Speaking before the scores were revealed on Saturday night, Claudia commented: “I feel like someone we have to mention is your mum who is watching at home, she likes Strictly more than anyone doesn’t she?”
We’ve been texting all week
“We’ve been texting all week,” joked Kevin.
Stacey added: “She’s been giving Kev advice which is helpful.”
“Yeah, she’s been saying work her hard, she’s been telling me all her foods,” Kevin continued.
He then went on to reveal Stacey’s boyfriend Sam has been giving him tips on how to make the documentary maker work for longer.
“Sam her boyfriend as well, making sure she eats this and eats that, you’ll get an extra two hours out of her,” Kevin explained.
Stacey laughed: “Cause Kev needs that guidance. How long have you been dancing for?”
STACEY DOOLEY ON STRICTLY: IS STACEY DOOLEY MARRIED? WHO IS SHE DATING?
“Since I was four,” the professional dancer replied.
Stacey laughed: “See, he needs the guidance.”
Following her performance on Saturday night, Stacey spoke out against the judges’ low scoring on spin-off show It Takes Two.
Speaking to host Zoe Ball, she said: “When the judges - when Craig - gets the four and he said he just didn’t like anything about it, you try not to take it personally but you’re like, well it was my dance.
“So what can I do?”
Defending the star, Kevin jumped in and remarked: “We were obviously opening the show which is tough.
“We set out to lift the roof off the building and have a good time, have a party and I think she achieved that.”
This week the couple will be hoping to impress viewers as they dress as minions for Movie Week.
The pair will be dancing the Jive to Happy by Pharell Williams.
Strictly Come Dancing airs Saturday on BBC One at 6.30pm.
