Coronation Street spoilers: Bethany Platt issues Billy Mayhew FIERCE warning over secret
CORONATION STREET exposed Billy Mayhew’s secret tonight, as Weatherfield teen Bethany Platt discovered what the vicar had been hiding from her uncle David Platt, after she questioned his suspicious behaviour.
Coronation Street: Beth warns Billy to stay away from Josh
Bethany (played by Lucy Fallon) had picked up on Billy’s (Daniel Brocklebank) unusual behaviour in Coronation Street on Wednesday night's episodes.
Billy had lied to David (Jack P. Shepherd) over his whereabouts when he said he couldn’t attend his son’s birthday party.
Although the vicar convinced David, Bethany was curious when she noticed Billy was without his dog collar when he said he’d been at church.
However, the teen finally discovered the truth when she followed Billy to the hospital where he was visiting David’s rapist, Josh Tucker (Ryan Clayton).
Billy has been visiting Josh, believing he is to blame for the attack which was carried out on the ex-mechanic a few weeks ago.
The vicar had warned a guy Josh was meeting that Josh had previously drugged a raped a friend of his, David, which led to Josh ending up in hospital.
When Bethany discovered what Billy had been hiding, she wasn’t pleased and burst into Josh’s hospital room to confront the vicar.
“How can you give that human garbage the time of day,” Bethany shouted as Billy tried to calm her down.
Billy then went on to explain why he was visiting Josh. “This isn’t just about me being a vicar. I’m responsible for Josh’s attack,” he confessed.
Bethany was reluctant to agree with Billy’s motives, with the vicar adding: “Yes he’s done some terrible things, but that doesn’t mean he can’t find redemption.”
Stay away from Josh. I mean it
“Bring out the violins. He has ripped my uncle’s life to pieces,” the Weatherfield teen stated, furious at Billy’s deception.
Bethany then went on to explain why she felt so strongly about Josh’s suffering, relaying it back to her sexual abuse ordeal at the hands of Neil Clifton (Ben Cartwright) and Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper).
Towards the end of the second visit to the cobbles, Bethany went to confront Billy once more when she arrived on his doorstep.
She confided in Billy, telling him she hadn’t told David about his secret but issued the vicar with a warning in a deal to keep her silence.
Defending her uncle, Bethany said: “Well stay away from Josh. I mean it,” after which she walked out the door.
Will Billy take on board the warning, or will he keep on making secret visits to Josh?
Elsewhere on the ITV soap, Jim McDonald (Charles Lawson) made his long-awaited return in tonight’s double visit to the cobbles.
Jim made an unwelcome entrance during son Steve McDonald’s (Simon Gregson) stag do, with the Irishman shocking the Weatherfield residents.
The mischievous character did hint towards his bombshell secret, when he told Liz McDonald (Beverly Callard) he needed to speak to their son urgently.
It wasn’t long after that viewers got their first look at Hannah (Hannah Ellis Ryan) as she met Jim in an alley behind the Rovers.
Hannah is the daughter of Jim and Liz who they believed had died at birth. Hannah’s arrival is likely to shock the McDonald family as they come to terms with the discovery.
