EMMERDALE fans were gripped to tonight’s ongoing Lachlan White saga as the rogue criminal chased Rebecca White through the forest to get her back to his locked-up lair. But ITV viewers found themselves distracted during the intense scenes.
Emmerdale: Lachlan chases Rebecca through the woods
Emmerdale’s Lachlan White (played by Thomas Atkinson) storyline has been going on for months, with the killer teen getting away with murder.
But Rebecca White (Emily Head) knows his darkest secrets and has been kept hidden in a bid to keep them quiet.
On tonight’s thrilling episode, she managed to escape his lair temporarily as a terrifying pursuit through the Yorkshire woods took place.
But viewers found themselves distracted as Lachlan desperately tried to recapture his aunt.
A tense chase followed for what seemed like an eternity, as a tired and weary Rebecca struggled to escape evil Lachlan’s grip.
But all the while, some viewers found themselves distracted by Lachlan’s seemingly comedic sprint.
One fan wrote on Twitter: “Also what was that run Lachlan was doing???”
Another added: “WOW! So not being able to run must be in the ‘White family’ genes.”
A third said: “These type of scenes frustrate the hell out of me...run...don’t f***y about...and why does everyone become clumsy all of a sudden.”
Also what was that run Lachlan was doing?
Despite the chase, Rebecca was eventually caught by the fitter and stronger Lachlan and it seemed she would be returned to the horror cabin.
However, when he dragged her back to the hut the family members had one final chat.
Lachlan declared there was “only one way” as fans feared the worst.
Rebecca was then smothered to death, apparently, and as the episode ended, the blonde character was left for dead.
But did she really just perish on the ITV soap? Or was it just another warning from Lachlan?
Viewers could barely contain their hatred of Lachlan following the shocking scenes and took to social media to share their thoughts.
One tweeted: “Lachlan better not have killed Rebecca.”
“I love Lachlan, he's so f***in vile.”(sic), shared a second.
A third added: “Arrest that little s**t Lachlan and throw away the key.”
Emmerdale continues tomorrow on ITV at 7pm.
