Coronation Street spoilers: David Platt and Shona Ramsey wedding revealed?
CORONATION STREET viewers have already seen two couples on the cobbles get engaged in recent weeks and they could be about to see another plan their wedding.
Coronation Street: David Platt reluctantly talks to his cellmate
It’s no secret that many Coronation Street viewers are big fans of Shona Ramsey (played by Julia Goulding) and David Platt (Jack P Shepherd).
But could fans see the couple walk down the aisle any time soon?
The pair broke up earlier this year after David was raped by Josh Tucker (Ryan Clayton) and he pushed those he loved away.
But after Aidan Connor’s (Shayne Ward) suicide, he turned to Shona for support and the pair are now back on track.
Speaking about their relationship, soap star Julia told Inside Soap: “They’ve definitely had some hard times, but there’s that saying: ‘What doesn’t break you makes you stronger.’
“They make each other laugh, which I think is the basis of every successful relationship.
“And they challenge each other - they don’t let each other get away with much.”
Jack added: “I think a lot of it is also down to mine and Julia’s relationship.
“We socialise outside of work, we get on well, so we have a friendly chemistry - and I think that shows on screen.”
So should fans expect to see the pair exchange vows?
A wedding’s not everything for Shona and David
“A wedding’s not everything for Shona and David - but wearing a big white dress on Corrie? That’d be fun,” Julia commented.
“I’d want a big wedding,” Jack chipped in. “None of this getting wed in the Bistro.”
“Yes! Shona could wear sparkly white Doc Martens - and David the dog could be the ring bearer,” Julia continued.
The pair have been nominated for this year’s Inside Soap Best Partnership Award.
And, Julia and Jack are over the moon to learn about the nomination.
When asked if Shona deserves an award for putting up with David, Jack replied: “Probably!
“I have absolutely no idea why she stays with him.”
“I’d have dumped David a long time ago, the way he’s been with her,” Julia chipped in.
