A MAN who took three people hostage inside a Madrid bank this morning has been arrested after handing himself in to police.

The three hostages, said to include the bank director, were held against their will for around an hour.
No-one has been hurt in the drama, which happened at a Bankia branch in the Madrid neighbourhood of Usera.
Local reports said that before the hold-up, the armed robber asked for a glass of rum at a nearby bar.
Spanish daily El Pais said the waitress refused to serve him at first because he was drunk, although she served him the spirit and a glass of water after he protested.
