ISIS has claimed responsibility for the terror attack that killed at least 22 people and 59 others, while other young victims fight for their lives in hospital.
Last night Ariana Grande, who had been playing at Manchester Arena, tweeted: “broken. from the bottom of my heart, i am so so sorry. i don't have words.”
Devastated parents are now sharing photographs online as they desperately try to track down their missing children after the deadly attack at about 10.30pm.
Young people are posting heartbreaking messages on Twitter in a bid to find their friends, including the missing teenager Olivia Campbell, 15.
In the wake of the attack, #StandTogether and #PrayforManchester are among popular hashtags being used to share information and show solidarity on Twitter around the world.
In a message shared on Twitter, the Queen said: “The whole nation has been shocked by the death and injury in Manchester last night of so many people, adults and children, who had just been enjoying a concert.
"I know I speak for everyone in expressing my deepest sympathy to all who have been affected by this dreadful event and especially to the families and friends of those who have died or were injured."
