He was chased down a street on his way to a public meeting in Vauxhall, south London by a small group waving banners.
The Labour supporters accused him of selling out and cutting benefits by voting in favour of the bedroom tax.
Tim Farron then invited them in to the public meeting before being told they wouldn’t attend because “we don’t like you”.

Footage from the scene shows a stunned Mr Farron first attempting to outpace the group before addressing them at the door to the building.
One of the protesters is shown saying: “You got in bed with the Tories. You might be comfortable with that … but the bedroom tax, disabled people got pushed out of their homes, their beds and lost their lives.

Mr Farron is then shown greeting the General Election Lib Dem candidate for Vauxhall George Turner and gesturing towards the furious protestors.
He said: “Alright George? You’re constituents here…”
The protester then responds to an unintelligible question by shouting: “Because we don’t like you! Because you’ve done bad things already.”
When Mr Farron is asked to apologise by the group he instead enters the building, saying: “Take care now, cheerio!”
Earlier today Mr Farron hit out at Prime Minister Theresa May over her social care U-turn.
He branded the row-back "May's manifesto meltdown" but said it changed nothing for families concerned about the bill for care for elderly relatives.

The protestors chased Tim Farron down a street before he escaped into a public meeting
He said: “As Theresa May has made clear herself, nothing has changed and her heartless dementia tax remains in place.
"This is a cold and calculated attempt to pull the wool over people's eyes. Theresa May still wants to take older people's homes to fund social care."
