The centrist, who has previously vowed to go “tough” on the UK’s historic Brexit vote, was upstaged by Ms Le Pen in what became a PR disaster.
Boos and shouting can be heard in a video clip circulated online before the pro-Europe French Presidential candidate can be seen surrounded by TV cameras.
Mr Macron, who was in Amiens in northern France, is the current frontrunner ahead of the second round of the French election but has been accused of complacency.
The europhile is poised to enter the Elysee Palace when he faces his opponent Ms Le Pen on May 7.

If your Government decides to organise a Brexit, I will be pretty tough on it
In a Channel 4 interview, aired in February, the En Marche! chief repeatedly promised to ensure Britain faced “consequences” for voting Leave.
He said: “If your Government decides to organise a Brexit, I will be pretty tough on it.
“We have to preserve the rest of the European Union and not to convey the message that you can decide to leave without any consequences.”
In the same interview, Mr Macron blasted Theresa May for her Brexit vision which sees the UK rejecting single market membership, but still retaining access.
Mr Macron came out top in the first-round vote on Sunday, with 24.01 per cent of the total vote.
His rival, anti-EU Marine Le Pen, finished second after gathering 21.4 per cent of support.
