Assange teases Wikileaks Clinton announcement
Appearing by video link at a Berlin conference to mark the tenth anniversary of WikiLeaks, he warned that "significant" information would be made public before the US election in November.
He had been due to made an address from a London balcony, but the appearance was cancelled after WikiLeaks developed “specific information” about a security threat.
The 45-year-old has lived in the Ecuadorian embassy in London for five years in order to avoid extradition to Sweden.
Sources had suggested that Mr Assange might use the event to release “damaging information” that could scupper Mrs Clinton’s chances of being elected as President.
Earlier this year, Mr Assange said that he had uncovered information on Mrs Clinton that contained “some quite unexpected angles, that are quite interesting, some even entertaining”.

He said that the findings were “significant” and hinted that they could influence the results of the US election.
Mrs Clinton is currently beating her rival Donald Trump in the polls by 2.5 per cent, according to Real Clear Politics.

WikiLeaks has already published an archive of emails allegedly from Mrs Clinton’s private email server.
The Democrat was investigated by the FBI to determine whether she broke US law by using her private server to send classified information. No charges were brought against her.
