Plane from Heathrow has to divert after co-pilot BROKE HIS LEG
A PLANE bound for San Francisco had to be diverted after the co-pilot broke his leg during the flight.
The United Boeing 787 Dreamliner flight took off from Heathrow airport in London today, set for the sun in San Francisco, USA.
But holidaymakers were forced to make a stop in New York after the weird mid-flight incident emerged.
Website Airlive reported the plane was forced to land at Newark Airport earlier today and reported the flight's co-pilot had injured his leg.
Details of how the injury was caused are yet to emerge but the flight is now believed to have left New York and is back on its way to San Francisco.
It comes just days after a plane carrying 132 passengers and five crew members was hit by a drone at Heathrow Airport.
On Saturday, passengers' seats were left caked in blood after extreme turbulence rocked a Thai Airways flight.
And the nose of another plane, this time EgyptAir, was caved in when a seagull ploughed headfirst into it.
