A missing person’s appeal has been launched after a British man failed to return home from his holiday.

Sam Kennedy's family are pleading for information after he didn’t show up when he was due back to Glasgow, Scotland on Thursday, June 27, after a trip to Krakow, Poland. None of his family have heard from Sam or been able to make contact with him since.

His sister Robyn posted on Facebook pleading for any information on Sam’s whereabouts.

The Facebook post read: "This is my brother Sam, he was supposed to have returned home from Poland (Krakow) on Thursday night but me and my family have not heard from him.

"If anyone knows any information that could help us find us find him please let us know and please share this post so we can reach as many people as possible.

“Any help is hugely appreciated by me and my family. Thank you,"

Thousands of people have already shared the appeal.

An FCDO spokesperson said: “We are supporting the family of a British national missing in Poland."

It comes as a police search in Tenerife for the 19-year-old Brit Jay Slater was brought to an end.

Tenerife's Guardia Civil confirmed on Sunday (June 30) that efforts to find Mr Slater have now ceased.

The latest development comes after authorities on the island mounted a final push to find Jay.

Brigadier Cipriano Martin, Chief of the Guardia Civil's Mountain Rescue unit, said Mr Slater, 19, wouldn't have travelled to any area his team hasn't gone to.

Speaking through a translator, he told the BBC: "There are difficult areas and we've given instructions for people not to risk their own safety.

“But there's something we need to make clear, which is any area we don't go to, well, Jay won't have gone there either."

Tenerife's Guardia Civil had appealed for volunteers who were experts in rugged terrain to help in a massive search on Saturday (June 29) but it is believed only about a dozen turned up.
